BCNT (Network of Inland Terminals) is the most important inland container terminal network in the Benelux. They have a large number of inland terminals. These offer an excellent alternative to transporting containers by road. Transport by water is not only a more sustainable, but also a more cost-efficient way to transport goods.
Did you know that BCNT has 8 terminals, five in the Netherlands and three in Belgium?
The cooperation between BCTN and Mantsinen Group together with the local distributor Heavy Handling BVBA was a great success. BCTN adopted the Mantsinen 200ER to handle heavy cargo efficiently, easily and in a sustainable way at terminal Geel.
Terminal Geel in Belgium handles 100 containers a day consisting of materials for the automotive industry. The containers are 20 feet and weigh an average of 32 tons when fully loaded. “We needed a crane that could handle the heavy weight, and for environmental reasons it was necessary for it to be electric. That’s why we chose the Mantsinen 200ER,” says Wim Busser, Purchase and Support Director at BCTN.
“We are very satisfied with the Mantsinen 200ER. It really is a fast crane. Before, we could handle about 20 containers per hour on average, but with Mantsinen we can almost double the handling capacity. Operators complement how easy it is to use compared to a regular port crane.”
